EXTERNAL QUALITY CONTROL (EQC) PROGRAM;

External Quality Control: refers to the monitoring and evaluation activity carried out, with samples of known or unknown content or concentration, organized by a system/institution/organization outside the laboratory in order to ensure or improve the reliability of laboratories' test results.

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXTERNAL QUALITY CONTROL:

External Quality Control programs are programs run by independent organizations in which laboratories' analytical performances are evaluated comparatively. Through the External Quality Control program, laboratories' analytical performances are evaluated by comparing them with the performances of other laboratories on an international scale.

Wellcare Medical Laboratories

The analyses performed at our center are evaluated through the External Quality Control program (Bio-RAD EQAS, USA). In addition, analyses are performed by applying the CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) and CLSI (The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute) standards on good laboratory practices. At our center, almost all stages of laboratory analysis are performed with fully automated systems, ensuring analytical and preanalytical international standards. In our laboratory, using "robotic" technologies, all tests are run without manual handling, and results are reported rapidly through the LIS (Laboratory Integration Systems) in use.
