DigestCheck

What is the DigestCheck panel?
The intestine is referred to as the "second brain" of the body and plays a significant role in overall health.
The balance between the intestinal mucosa, microbiota, and the digestive immune system regulates physiological or pathological changes such as intestinal infection, inflammation, or increased intestinal permeability. All of these processes are known to play a role in the development of many chronic inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, whether or not they are associated with digestive symptoms.
Therefore, the DigestCheck profile focuses on intestinal balance and is based on four main screening areas:
- Intestinal-origin inflammation
- Increased intestinal permeability
- Dysbiosis (imbalance of the gut flora)
- Impairment of immune defenses in the intestinal mucosa
What can we expect from DigestCheck?
The DigestCheck test allows for the non-invasive evaluation of the digestive system's function while also enabling the early detection of intestinal inflammation, flora imbalance (dysbiosis), or abnormalities in intestinal permeability.
In this way, we can find clues to explain pathologies such as irritable bowel syndrome, food intolerances, autoimmune diseases, or chronic inflammatory diseases.
Who is the DigestCheck profile suitable for?
The DigestCheck profile is suitable not only for those experiencing digestive discomfort but also for individuals with conditions that may result from an imbalance in the digestive ecosystem. For example:
- Unexplained digestive pain, diarrhea, persistent constipation
- Chronic intestinal inflammation (Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, etc.)
- Disorders related to repeated or prolonged use of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, proton pump inhibitors
- Obesity, excess weight
- Chronic inflammatory diseases (joint problems and others)
- Depression, anxiety, concentration or sleep problems
- Individuals seeking nutritional evaluation after digestive surgery or radiation therapy
Parameters:
- Physical/chemical examination of stool
- Blood in stool
- Beta-2 defensin in stool
- Calprotectin
- Secretory IgA in stool
- Zonulin in stool
- Alpha-1 antitrypsin in stool
Test duration: 10-14 days, Test type: Stool sample
